Jamie Sanin (she/they) is a visual artist, educator, and organizer living in New York's Hudson Valley.
Raised in Orange County NY with B.S. in Visual Arts Education, her interest in teaching sprouted from her own experience with the arts; in addition to visual art, Jamie also studied dance, music, and theatre from a young age. Each experience provided them not only with a breadth of cultural knowledge but also the opportunity to consider the importance of community care via accessible arts, for which she is an advocate.
Through their artwork, Jamie aims to create cultural commentary using a visual language and to utilize the arts as a vessel to foster strong connection and community. Her personal, professional, and creative work is centered around radical liberation, collaboration, and joy. Jamie is also the proud founder of Celebrate845, whose mission is to organize, recognize, and celebrate marginalized creatives via pop-up events across the 845. Jamie is so grateful to have roots in the Hudson Valley and be a part of its creative community.
